Some nutritious choices in forage crops are on the horizon.

Two new strains of big bluestem grass...Bonanza and Goldmine... promise improved nutrition in pastures of the Midwest and the Plains. Cattle can gain 18 to 50 more pounds per acre grazing the new grasses vs. older bluestems. Some seed for the new grasses will be available next year.
