Deerfield, IL -- Fortune Brands, the Deerfield, IL-based company with wide-ranging interests in the kitchen and bath industry, today reported "strong" results from continuing operations for the fourth quarter and full year 2005.

The publicly traded Fortune Brands said that net sales were $7.06 billion, up 15% from the previous year. Net income for 2005 was $621.1 million, compared to $783.8 million in 2004.
