May 3--Opponents of Pataskala's income-tax issue outnumbered supporters at the polls yesterday.

About 59 percent of voters rejected the tax, according to unofficial results from the Licking County Board of Elections.

The 1.5 percent income tax would have raised about $1.4 million for Pataskala's deteriorating streets.
