Many bodywear manufacturers are favoring mass market stores as a venue for their products over department stores. Jacques Moret Inc, which makes bodywear for Kmart and Wal-Mart, is forecasting a 20% increase in sales for 1993. Danskin Inc Shape Manager Irv Moskowitz attributes the steady rise in activewear sales in the mass market to its image as a disposable article of clothing that shouldn't be expensive. Women who will shop in department stores for fashion will shop at mass retailers for value in activewear, he said.
