Apr. 27--ALTON -- William Kessler, the first and only lay administrator in the history of Saint Anthony's Health Center, announced Wednesday he will step aside later this year after nearly 35 years with the hospital. Kessler, 61, came to Saint Anthony's Hospital in January 1972 as its first lay administrator, following Mother Agatha and Sister Theotima as the only full-time CEOs in the hospital's 60-year history.
