What is realism? That's one of the many questions posed by a new exhibit of drawings and paintings from a couple of veteran Eugene artists, Bruce Dean and Walt Stevens, that opens Friday at the Jacobs Gallery.
Both of these artists do representational work. In other words, they paint pictures that are "of" something recognizable: people, bottles, flowers, rocks.
Both artists are white-haired men in their 70s. Both taught art at Lane Community College before retiring. And both went to art school at a time when ...
