Apr. 21--A month after Iraqi children received hundreds of packages of school supplies donated by local students, a veterans organization is hosting a drive to send soccer balls to the country.

Balls sold at Thompson-Berry Park on Saturday during the Owensboro United Soccer Club's spring tournament will be delivered to Iraqi children by Owensboro's adopted military unit.

The balls will be sold beginning at 7:30 a.m. for $6, which also will cover shipping, Terry Stinson, chairman of the Owensboro-Daviess County Veterans Affairs Organization, said.
