A young girl who died when a canoeing trip during a family Easter break went wrong was named yesterday as Billie Holiday Clayton, the nine-year-old daughter of a TV presenter.

Billie was with her father, ITV Yorkshire presenter Ian Clayton, and her twin brother Edward when disaster struck on the River Wye, near Hay-on-Wye, mid Wales, on Wednesday afternoon.

Family members and the police searched the river and eventually located the girl who was airlifted to hospital.
