La palma Brahea dulcis es explotada en el centro de Mexico con tines comerciales. Esta especie se usa como materia prima para la elaboracion de artesanias. En este trabajo se evaluo como el corte de hojas de esta palma, por parte de indigenas Otomies, puede afectar algunos parametros poblacionales de la especie en la Reserva de la Biosfera Barranca de Metztitlan, Hidalgo, Mexico.
