When Lithotype (South San Francisco, CA) decided to go with lithographic offset printing and electron beam curing instead of using heat-set presses to print on film and foil for seasonings mix and drink mix pouches, it wanted a unit that would not cause change in the molecular level of the polyvinyl chloride or polyethylene film, "We chose a low-voltage system because we are surface-printing EB inks and coatings," says Gary Gassman, vice president of operation, "The low-voltage system has allowed us to monitor the depth of the cure," and avoid making the substrate brittle,
