In geographic terms, the Dardanelles is a narrow slice of water in Turkey that links the Black Sea to the Mediterranean. In culinary terms, the Monroe Street restaurant of the same name features the tastes of Turkey and beyond.

The casual neighborhood restaurant has been open for 10 years. The menu has a true Mediterranean focus.

"We offer dishes from many countries that border the Mediterranean -- Morocco, Turkey, France, Italy, Spain," owner Barbara Wright says.
