At the helm of John Carroll University less than a year, Father Robert Niehoff already has some tough decisions to make to restore the school's finances to good order.

John Carroll's president must cut the school's budget of nearly $80 million by $2.7 million, or about 3%, in the year ahead while continuing to compete with other universities that have major building projects under way and that give significant tuition discounts - both of which John Carroll can't afford right now.
