PerFit's $349 Port-A-Com modem is a compact unit powered by the Apple Desktop Bus (ADB) that can be used with a desktop or PowerBook Macintosh. It is essentially a SpectraCom modem that has been modified to use the ADB connector instead of a battery pack and comes with cables, a cloth case, Faxstf and MicroPhone LT software, a quick-start guide and separate fax and data documentation. The data mode supports speeds of up to 14.4K-bps, automatic fallback, V.42 error correction and V.42bis MNP Class 5 compression.
