CATHOLICS celebrate the feast of the Annunciation today. Although Lent is a time for penance, Catholics designate this day to celebrate. The reason is that this feast day recalls how God sent an angel to the humble maiden Mary of Nazareth with an incredible message: She was to be the virgin mother of Jesus, the Son of God.
