SILER CITY-- John Russell Brooks, 90, of 408 Eden Hills Road, died Saturday, January 21, 2006 at Chatham Hospital, Inc. in Siler City.

A funeral service will be held at 3 p.m. on Tuesday, January 24, 2006 at Smith & Buckner Funeral Home, 230 North Second Avenue in Siler City and conducted by the Rev. Lamont Hemminger. Burial will be in Mt. Vernon United Methodist Cemetery in Siler City.

Mr. Brooks was a native of Chatham County and was a cattle farmer.
