Jill Halfpenny, 30, is best known for having played Phil Mitchell's wife Kate in EastEnders. Now she is back on our screens in the new BBC1 drama series Waterloo Road, about a chaotic state school in Rochdale. Jill, a winner of Strictly Come Dancing, lives in Leyton, East London, with her boyfriend, actor Craig Conway.

I have lived in Leyton for coming on six years.

I moved here purely for monetary reasons.

I came to study drama at college and when my course was over, I lived in different rented accommodation around London for a while.
