Regular supplementation with micronutrients may reduce the frequency and severity of arrhythmic episodes in patients with paroxysmal atrial arrhythmia, according to a Dec 20, 2005, news release from Dr Rath Education Services USA, Santa Clara, Calif. Arrhythmic episodes affect 30% to 60% of people between the ages of 50 and 70 years and can cause dizziness, shortness of breath, or a sudden cardiac event. Conventional treatments target the symptoms of arrhythmia rather than the cause, and arrhythmia medications may have severe side effects.
