Mar. 21--Shannon Roseta remembers Meier & Frank from the grandiose perspective of childhood -- that magical, 14-story building in downtown Portland that was transformed each winter into a holiday wonderland, and where fashion dreams mingled with her teenage reality.

"There was a teen club, and for 39 cents with your membership card you could get a hamburger and fries and a milkshake," says Roseta, a Churchill High School counselor who grew up in Beaverton and served on the Portland store's "Hi Board" of style-minded girls.
