There has been a reported increase in the importation of cephalopods by developing countries such as the US. Cephalopods such as squid, octopus and cuttlefish is a favorite culinary delicacy in these countries. Analysts note that the increase interest in health foods in the US could boost importation and consumption of cephalopod products. The US Food and Drug Administration ensures that all cephalopod produce entering the country are thoroughly tested.
