Mar. 18--Ohio State scientists studying how the AIDS virus hijacks human cells have discovered the cells fight back.

Kristine Yoder and Richard Fishel found that two proteins interfere with the virus' ability to integrate into the genetic material in a cell's nucleus. Their discovery could help explain why some infected people don't develop symptoms.

And if the virus doesn't get into the nucleus and replicate, "the game is over," Fishel said.

The discovery also could lead to treatments that circumvent the virus's ability to become resistant ...
