BUDDING soccer stars got a chance to show off their skills, Brazilian style, at a unique football tournament involving eight schools from the Handsworth and Aston areas.

They all kicked off for the International Confederation of Futebol de Salao Lego Schools Cup at the newly opened Laurel Road sports ground in Handsworth.

Futebol de Salao is cited by such legends as Pele and Ron-aldo as the game that helped to develop their World Cup-winning skills. Played with a smaller, heavier ball, the matches are fast and full of samba-style tricks.
