From the avant-garde to "proletarian art."

Egyseg and Akasztott Ember were journals founded in 1922 when artists began to break away from previously existing journals. Both journals contained material significant to International Constructivism in Central Europe. They also contributed to the debate on avant garde versus the 'Proletcult.' Egyseg, subtitled 'Literature/Art' was a publication known for its ties with the KMP and the Austrian Communists, with reproductions of works of Moscow artists. Akasztott Ember was a journal developed as radically independent from bourgeois culture.
