Mar. 13--Arrow Rock has chalked up another historic first by becoming the first site in Missouri to be named to the Dozen Distinctive Destinations list by the National Trust for Historic Preservation.

Arrow Rock, nestled on a Missouri River bluff in eastern Saline County, is noteworthy because many consider it the birthplace of historic preservation in Missouri, said Mike Dickey, administrator of Arrow Rock State Historic Site.
