Syria is to import Egyptian natural gas through the Arab Pipeline system from the Jordanian border which should be completed by late 2006. But the volume of gas the Syrians will buy from this system may or may not reach its capacity of 18 MCM/d, depending on the country's economic conditions which are not encouraging at the moment.
