CHESAPEAKE -- CHESAPEAKE - Thomas Franklin "Tommy" Manning, 80, passed away March 4, 2006. He was born Dec. 25, 1925, in Pitt County, North Carolina, the son of the late Rudolph Earl Manning and Rosa Thigpen Manning. A son, Thomas F. Manning Jr. and a sister-in-law, Patricia Manning, predeceased him.

Tommy retired in 1987 from Virginia Electric and Power (Dominion Virginia Power) after more than 30 years of service. He served his country in the United States Navy during World War II.

He leaves behind three sons, Buddy Manning of Stanardsville, Va., Stephen ...
