Mar. 3--Sculptor Ryan Mandell has three pieces at the Schopf Gallery on Lake that show his fascination with what anthropologist Marc Auge calls the "non-place," a completely nondescript site developed for efficiency and sameness of use.

Two of the pieces are floor sculptures depicting an expressway cloverleaf without an entrance or exit and a featureless airport with buildings connected by movable corridors used to enter planes.
