The homevid biz is going ape over "King Kong's" arrival on DVD.

Universal Studios Home Video will release Peter Jackson's epic creature feature March 28--the same date 20th Century Fox Home Entertainment is unleashing a massive "Planet of the Apes Ultimate DVD Collection."

Meanwhile, Sony Pictures Home Entertainment is riding the creature's coattails by releasing a monster edition of its 1998 lizard king, "Godzilla."
