Feb. 15--SANTA ROSA -- When Jorge Da Silva went to his native country last year, he discovered that the taxi he was riding in ran on two types of fuel: gasoline and ethanol. He also learned that the ethanol available at most Brazilian filling stations was made using, not corn, but sugar cane, one of that South American country's chief crops.
