Feb. 12--New federal regulations for air ambulance flights may raise the costs and lower the availability of medical evacuation flights in Alaska, according to operators.
The National Transportation Safety Board issued recommendations Jan. 25 for companies providing emergency medical service flights, or medevacs, to add technology and risk-management procedures as a way to improve the industry's safety record.
