Feb. 10--Michigan is replacing defensive coordinator Jim Herrmann with Ron English, who had just left the team for the NFL. English, U-M's secondary coach the past three seasons, was hired Tuesday to coach the Chicago Bears' defensive backs. But the Bears said Thursday that he "backed out of the position" and was "expected to be named Michigan's defensive coordinator." A U-M source confirmed that English would get the job. Media relations director Bruce Madej would say only that "we will confirm that Ron English is returning." ...
