The use of executive information systems (EIS) to aid executives in healthcare organizations make better decisions is discussed. EISs are workstation-based information systems which can present integrated information from various departments of an organization to executives. With the help of financial managers, executives can use EISs to analyze real-time financial information rather than receiving periodic reports.
