The accurate computation of developed blanks from stampings is complicated by the complexity of most stamping shapes. Comprehensive treatment for the evolution of developed blanks is necessary for the metal strain. The amount of part distortion, strip metal type, metal temper, changes in the thickness of the purchased stock and the degree of force used in the forming station of the die must be taken into consideration in these calculations.
