The CBS mini-series chronicles the life of Queen Haley, paternal grandmother of Pulitzer Prize-winner Alex Haley, author of the best-selling book, Roots. In the series that runs for three pights, Ms. Berry brings to life the desperate struggle of Queen, born on a Southern plantation to a slave mother (Jasmine Guy) and the son of the master (Tim Daly).
