Feb. 1--As if chocoholics needed an excuse to feed their sweet tooth, February is not only a month for lovers, it is also chocolate lovers month.

According to the National Confectioner's Association, more than 36 million heart-shaped boxes of chocolate will be sold on Valentine's Day alone. But the romantic notions associated with sweetened chocolate hearts are a far cry from the original form in which chocolate was first consumed.
