Jan. 31--For 24 years, his Pete's Deli routine hasn't been altered too much.
Charlie Harvey arrives at Crossroads Mall in Roanoke about 6:45 a.m. most weekday mornings. He walks several miles around the interior portion of Crossroads, and then he stops off at Pete's for a cup of coffee and two glasses of water.
He often returns to Pete's later in the morning with his wife, Flora, to eat breakfast. They may order eggs or fried apples, choosing from a menu that includes items such as country ham biscuits for $1.59 and ...
