I read with great interest "Why Children with ADHD Do Not Have Low IQs," by authors Schuck and Crinella in the May/June 2005 issue of the Journal of Learning Disabilities. The authors accurately noted that most individuals with attention-deficit / hyperactivity disorder (ADHD) do not have significantly lower IQs than children in the population and that evidence across genetic, neuroanatomical, neuropsychological, and pharmacological studies supports a physiological basis for ADHD.
