Benthos shareholders to weigh buyout offer from Teledyne.

Jan. 27--Shareholders in North Falmouth-based underwater exploration and package inspection equipment maker Benthos Inc. are meeting Friday to vote on whether to approve an offer from Los Angeles-based Teledyne Technologies to purchase the company for about $41 million.

The meeting will be held at 10 a.m. at the Holiday Inn in Falmouth.

The companies announced the deal in November. If the deal is closed, Benthos stockholders would receive $17.50 per share in cash, which was about a 40 percent premium over the closing price on the day before the deal was announced.
