More than 500 seafaring Bay State students are stranded in Virginia after the $38 million, taxpayer-funded ship on which they were sailing to Europe broke down - for the second time in two voyages.

The Training Ship Enterprise - once blasted as a prime example of government waste - had to be escorted into port in Norfolk, Va., Sunday due to a host of mechanical problems and remained docked last night.
