Paramount Pictures veteran distribution prexy Wayne Lewellen is exiting the studio and will be replaced by DreamWorks distribution chief Jim Tharp.

Move marks the first major executive shift since Paramount Pictures acquired DreamWorks earlier this month.

Par announced the surprise $1.6 billion purchase of DreamWorks Dec. 11. Studio beat out rival bidder GE, which many had expected to land the studio following months of negotiations.
