LAUREN CALVERT won the government gong -but the multi-talented youngster is just one part of a Rainford quartet with their eyes on the big time.

The 15-year-old, who plays golf, netball, rounders, hockey and football, was crowned as Young Sportswoman of the Year 2005 by the Department of Skills and Education, receiving her award from Sports Minister Richard Caborn.
