NPA rebels free 9 comrades from jail in Batangas.(Main News)

Nine jailed suspected members of the communist New Peopleas Army (NPA) and four other detainees facing various criminal offenses were freed from the Batangas Provincial Jail in Barangay Cuta at 7:45 p.m. last Saturday by heavily armed men in police and military uniforms believed to be the rebelsa comrades.

The incident prompted MalacaA[+ or -]ang to issue an order directing the Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) and the Philippine National Police (PNP) to intensify internal security operations against the NPA nationwide especially in Southern Tagalog.
