Jan. 16--It was, as pilots like to say, "clear blue and a million" over the southeastern Spanish coastline that morning 40 years ago as two U.S. Air Force aircraft prepared for a routine aerial refueling rendezvous.
But something went wrong as the B-52 bomber and KC-135 aerial refueling tanker came together 6 miles above ground Jan. 17, 1966.
