Sonar in the classroom--exploring oceans.

Sonar is the acronym for Sound Navigation and Ranging. Sonar uses sound and echoes to find objects underwater. It is something that both humans and animals use to navigate in the depths of the ocean. Learning about sonar will help your students get excited about a variety of ocean topics depending on what direction you want to take your lessons. Two activities are described here that will help students better understand how sonar can compensate for a lack of sight.
