To the Editor:

In their letter Dec. 30, the Fallons assert that no truth is more evident than the concept of transubstantiation - the Catholic belief that the bread and wine of the Eucharist are literally replaced by Jesus Christ during the "celebration."

I disagree, and make this challenge to the Fallons: Let's have a mutually-agreed-upon laboratory run a chemical analysis of bread and wine before consecration and the same analysis after the bread ...
