BP and Sinopec held a ceremony in Chongqing on November 30th, 2005 to celebrate the 10th anniversary of Yangtze River Acetyls Company (YARACO)--an acetic acid joint venture between BP and Sinopec since December 1995. At the ceremony, BP and Sinopec also announced that the plant's acetic acid production capacity had been successfully expanded from 200 000 t/a to 350 000 t/a. The expansion completion has further consolidated YARACO's position as one of the largest acetyls facilities in China.
