According to "Bahrain Tribune", Bahrain's favorite road-side snacks - shawarma and kebabs are going to cost more from this month on as a over-two decades government subsidy on red meat is reduced by 100 fils per kilo. Despite sounding like small change, that comes to a lot - in 2005 alone, BD6 million was spent to subsidize red meat and by the last quarter of the year, nearly 520,000 head of red meat on the hoof ...
