Dec. 20--MARTA's board will turn to one of its retired top executives to oversee the transit system during its search for a general manager.
MARTA's board of directors met Monday behind closed doors to consider appointing an interim general manager. After several hours of discussion, the members agreed on Phil Carroll, a retired MARTA executive and retired Army colonel.
