The challenge of accounting for the humanitarian issues playing out within the nation of Sudan in the portfolios of institutional investors, particularly public investors, has become increasingly acute.
The approach taken by some, including the Illinois State Board of Investment, has been to encourage corporations to behave as responsibly as possible regarding the troubled nation, or to exit Sudan.
