Austin Burton checked out of the halfway house at 6:21 a.m., and returned 12 hours later.
In between, he robbed three Fresno banks, making off with $7,144 while he was supposed to be at his job washing windows.
Two days later, when police arrested Burton at the Turning Point halfway house, detectives found some of the cash hidden under his pillow.
