Shoes line the stairs leading up to St. John the Apostle Church in Siem Reap, Cambodia, giving it more the air of a Buddhist place of worship than a Catholic church. The building is unassuming, a simple wood-frame structure raised on stilts in the style of houses in the Cambodian countryside.
